Peoples Meadow
Achnahaird is a small settlement in the Scottish Highlands, close to the Summer Isles & Achiltibuie, Coigach. Achnahaird Farm Wildflower meadow is an ancient site surrounded by one of the largest stretches of Machair in the northwest highlands overlooking a stunning pink sand beach. The meadow has a diverse population of wildflowers including Autumn gentian, bog asphodel, devils bit scabious, orchids and sneezewort. A wide variety of grasses and lichens encourage the wildlife. Stoats, sea eagles, red deer, skylarks and lapwings can all be enjoyed here. The meadow is at its best during the months of July and August.
