Historically much of this 2.5 hectare site was given over to orchard and it has been reported that it was plowed shortly after the second world war. Green hay which will be collected from the donor meadow, Far Starling Bank, will be strewn at Middle Starling to begin its restoration process. Cowslip, Knapweed, Yellow Rattle and Birds Foor Trefoil are among the species of flowers that it is hoped will be established here.
