Mount Pleasant, Maiden Newton

Recipient Meadow

Part of the Mapperton Estate, this site of 22.5 acres received green hay from Lady's Mead, Dorset's Coronation Meadow in summer 2013. Mount Pleasant already holds species such as Bird's-foot trefoil, common knapweed and oxeye daisy and it is hoped that, following enhancement works, species such as burnet saxifrage, saw-wort and devil's-bit scabious will establish here. The Jubilee Trail, which was established in 1995 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ramblers' Association, crosses Mount Pleasant.
