Great Folly Mead, Folly Farm, Stowey

Recipient Meadow

In summer 2015, Great Folly Mead was cut and machine harrowed before green hay from the donor Coronation Meadow was spread. Afterwards, the site was rolled to free up the seeds from the seed heads. Seeds collected from the donor site by volunteers have been used to produce around 1000 plug plants to be planted in spring.

The site has been grazed to remove excess nutrients to gradually prepare the next section of the site for restoration and scrub has been removed to avoid growth expanding closer to the meadow.
