Recipient Meadow

The grassland bordering the south of the village of Hirwaun was seeded in the summer of 2016 with the help of Wyndrush Wild and Natural Resources Wales. The grassland is in an area that is notable for the presence of the marsh fritillary butterfly and it is hoped that in future years the plant devil’s bit scabious, which is the foodplant for the caterpillar of the butterfly will establish in the meadow here.
