Hurstans, Sollers Hope
Hurstans was cut for hay in July 2015 and then grazed by sheep to create a short sward. The site was chain harrowed twice and then power harrowed in strips to open the sward in preparation for sowing.
Seed that had previously been collected from Joan's Hill Farm, the donor Coronation Meadow, was then sown by hand by volunteers from the Wye Valley AONB. The field was subsequently rolled with an agricultural roller to push the seed into the ground.
