Kingsthorpe North Meadows, Northampton

Recipient Meadow

Kingsthorpe North Meadows lies adjacent to the River Nene, to the north of Northampton. Having lain unmanaged in previous years, the site was bought by the local community in 2009 to be conserved for wildlife. In summer 2014 work commenced here to enhance the meadows, using seed harvested from Boddington Meadow, Northamptonshire's donor Coronation Meadow. Through ongoing management and monitoring, it is hoped that plants such as meadow vetchling, meadow cranesbill and yellow rattle may establish here in the future.
