Payne’s Field, Tonbridge

Recipient Meadow

This privately owned field lies just a few fields away from the Kent Wildlife Trust-owned donor Coronation Meadow, Marden Meadow. A green hay cut was taken by the Trust at Marden Meadow in summer 2016 and quickly taken across to be spread by volunteers in a prepared area of Payne's field which had been harrowed to create patches of open ground for seed to germinate. The green hay was later turned to encourage the drop of seed from the hay. It is hoped the new meadow will help to create a more robust network of species-rich grassland in the area.

This meadow is open by arrangement only
