Tyddyn Afon, Glan Conwy

Recipient Meadow

Nestled on a slope next to the river, two pastures have not been ploughed or re-seeded since the war. Years of continuous grazing, though, have prevented many wildflowers from seeding. The effect of this over time has been to reduce the diversity of flowers in the pasture. It is due to receive seed from the Conwy Coronation Meadow, Mosshill, remarkable for its display of wildflowers, especially devil’s-bit scabious and knapweed in late summer.

Wrth ymyl glan afon, mae dwy lain o borfa heb eu haredig na’u hailhadu ers y rhyfel. Er hynny, mae blynyddoedd o bori cyson wedi atal nifer o flodau gwyllt rhag hadu. O ganlyniad mae llai o amrywiaeth o flodau yn y borfa. Ym Medi 2015 derbyniodd y safle hadau a gwair gwyrdd o Ddôl Goroni, Mosshill Conwy. Cafodd y tir ei lyfnu a’i hadu a gwasgarwyd yr hadau a’r gwair gwyrdd. Prynodd y perchennog ddwy fuwch, Breagha a Cadi, a phan fydd y glaswellt a’r blodau wedi tyfu defnyddir y buchod i reoli’r ddôl.
